CLAY DATE

 

May 15 - 17, 2014

Actual Size is pleased to host “Clay Date”. Modeled off speed dating, artists will be set in a line facing each other on opposite sides of a table. The participants sitting across from each other will be coupled in working teams to create a sculpture out of a piece of clay that will remain unfired. Each “date” will work together for several minutes, and then switch to the next “date” with a fresh piece of clay to create another sculpture. Rather than engaging romance through conversion, this event attempts to determine artistic compatibility though tactile encounters with clay. Wine will be provided.

 

Participating artist include, With Daniel Lane,Sarah Andrea Manuwal,Orion Martin, Ben Pruskin, Benjamin Reiss, Julie Schustack, Yelena Zhelezov and guests.

 

The products of these experiments will be on view in the gallery windows though May 17 with gallery hours from 12-5 on Saturday, May 17.
